who is Gulf Consulting

Michael Neamontis

Michael is a continuous improvement professional who has worked with various organisations and individual clients in the finance, facilities management, mining, rail freight logistics and infrastructure construction industries over the last 20 years.

Michael addresses the challenges of mitigating the impact of poor process performance, rigid cost structures, competitive pressures and demand variations in the pursuit of ongoing productivity performance improvements.

Michael possesses diverse skills and demonstrated experience in problem solving for operations improvements. He uses the following continuous improvement approach:

  • Lean thinking, methods and tools to drive low-cost process capability improvements, e.g. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) / Asset Utilisation implementation at Pacific National; Hoshin Policy deployments at ANZ Bank/Western Program Alliance; Quick Changeover Implementation at BHP Peak Downs haul truck maintenance; Last Planner System at Western Program Alliance & Snowy Hydro 2.0

  • PDCA and DMAIC* problem solving methodologies, e.g. Lean Management deployment and process flow improvements at Western Program Alliance, various Six Sigma projects delivered at Rio Tinto Northparkes Mine and ANZ Bank.

  •  Stabilising, standardising and improving internal business processes and organisational capabilities that lie behind the variability in productivity performance, e.g. freight logistics improvement projects at MMG Ltd; process offshoring at ANZ Bank.

Michael is ideally placed to achieve results because of his flexible, adaptive and delivery oriented approach to partnering with client organisations. Being people focused, he uses only the requisite continuous improvement thinking, methods and tools throughout the entire business improvement cycle to make solutions simple and workable while empowering, connecting and motivating people to achieve success. This ensures improvements are identified and fully realised.

With changes to the global business and economic environments driven in part by social and environmental requirements, Michael is well placed to take on the next set of challenges that organisations and individuals will need to urgently solve in a timely manner to deliver value for their stakeholders.

* PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, and Act); DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control)
